How else can you improve a field recorder... that's quite an interesting question. After all, the conceptual basics are pretty much known by now. There's really not much left: once the concept is settled, you can only improve the components. And that, among other things, is what Zoom has done with the H5studio. What this recorder can record is a maximum of 140 dB. In addition: F-series pre-amps, which capture 132 dB without noise or overdrive. Storage format then: 32 big float, so never worry about clipping again. Bandwidth? Just 192 kHz, which is overwhelmingly more than spacious! Another nice detail to note is that there is protection against interference from smartphones and Wi-Fi routers. You might not think about it, but by now we are surrounded by it. Furthermore, it is in all respects a recorder of our time, and perhaps the best you can currently obtain!
