Granting easy access to vintage Blackface-amp-style sound, the Crazy Tube Circuits Stardust V3 overdrive pedal stacks up three different amp flavours. The control panel is simple: flip the mini-switch to select your preferred voicing; tweak the set of three pots to mould the output to shape; and toggle the effect via the single footswitch. The Gain pot pulls your selected classic American amp sound from a light sparkle to a sweet overtone-rich growl and the Tone pot swings the vibe from dark to bright at will. The all-analogue signal path features discrete gain stages and has been fully backed up by MOSFET transistors that spit deliciously organic and articulate overdrives, and even when run on a standard 9V power supply, the internal boost up to 18 Volts supplies more than enough headroom.
