The StingRay bass guitar is Music Man's most famous design and this more attractively-priced version, is Sterling's Ray4. It has the same classic design and tones. There's a ceramic humbucker at the bridge that gives you all the power you need and you can tweak the sound to perfection using the 2-band active preamplifier and volume control. Note that the preamp requires 9V battery power. The Ray4 has a body made of basswood with a stylish Vintage Cream pickguard. The neck and fretboard are both made of maple and there are 21 medium frets. The large open machine heads ensure stable tuning.
