While the Roland Aerophone Mini has a similar layout to a flute, this digital wind-instrument makes a number of entirely different sounds. In principle, the Aerophone is a kind of breath-controller that registers air pressure and is played by pressing the buttons mounted along the top, in the same configuration as the keys on a flute. Combined, this controls the internal sound engine and six possible sounds. Play saxophone, flute, clarinet, trumpet, violin and the synthesizer sounding, 'saw-lead'. By using the supported app, the sound bank of the Aerophone can be expanded even further and, since it comes with a built-in speaker and headphone socket, you pretty much have an almost-pocket-sized, complete instrument.
